Comparing Gordon Campbell's tenure to his immediate predecessors

Gordon Campbell will have served 9 years and 267 days as premier when he steps down.

In the 9 years and 267 days before he became premier BC had five premiers

  • Ujjal Dosnajh - 1 year 102 days
  • Dan Miller - 183 days
  • Glen Clark - 3 years 185 days
  • Mike Harcourt - 4 years 109 days
  • Rita Johnson - 218 days

They served for a total of 10 years and 64 days and only had two election wins to Campbell's three.   Gordon Campbell has served as premier longer than all four of the NDP governments of the 1991 - 2001 period.

How ever you want to measure it, Gordon Campbell has been one of the most successful premiers in BC history.
