The number of NDP/CCF governments in Canada at any given time since the first one in 1944

1 July 10 1944   May 22 1964    Sask
0 May 23 1964    July 14 1969   last time no NDP govts

2 June 30 1971   Sept 14 1972   Man Sask
3 Sept 15 1972   Dec 22 1975    Man Sask BC
2 Dec 23 1975    Nov 24 1977    Man Sask
1 Nov 25 1977    Nov 29 1981    Sask
2 Nov 30 1981    May 8 1982     Sask Man
1 May 9 1982     May 28 1985    Man
2 May 29 1985    May 9 1988     Man Yukon

2 Oct 1 1990     Oct 31 1991    Yukon Ont
3 Nov 1 1991     Nov 4 1991     Yukon Ont Sask
4 Nov 5 1991     Nov 9 1992     Yukon Ont Sask BC
3 Nov 10 1992    June 26 1995   Ont Sask BC
2 June 27 1995   Oct 18 1996    Sask BC
3 Oct 19 1996    Oct 4 1999     Sask BC Yukon
4 Oct 5 1999     May 5 2000     Sask BC Yukon Man
3 May 6 2000     June 5 2001    Sask BC Man
2 June 6 2001    Nov 21 2007    Sask Man
1 Nov 22 2007    June 18 2009   Man
2 June 19 2009   current        Man Nova Scotia

This should rise to three shortly with the election of the NDP in BC.  The current polling seems to indicate the NDP are likely to lose power in Nova Scotia which is likely to have an election this fall.    It seems improbable that the NDP will win the next Ontario election which means we are likely to see only two NDP governments through to October 2015

Since July 10th 1944 the CCF/NDP has been in power in either Saskatchewan or Manitoba almost all the time expect for five years in the late 1960s and then for three and a half years from May 20th 1988 to November 1st 1991
