I only raise this because the date specified in the Act are the ones that were placed there by the NDP when the passed the onerous referendum and initiative act.
It makes me curious, will the NDP promise to improve the referendum and initiative act when they get to power in 2013?

Of course James wasn't in the house when the legislation was passed. But Gordon Campbell was. And he moved an interesting amendment to the section regarding the timing of a vote. You can read about it here: therealstory.ca
