A Confession

I am trying really, really hard to try and care about federal politics.   I almost more interested in the American World Series - if you know me, you know that baseball is not a sport I like at all.

It seems all the parties in Ottawa are talking about irrelevant issues and playing media politics with them.    There is not single leader that is inspiring on any level.

I can not muster an enthusiasm.

I find frustration with the Conservative attempt to shift the country towards their worldview is an endless renewable source of energy for political interest. Although that is deflated by the lack of vision you mention. However I what I find even more depressing is the ever worsening electoral deadlock we seem to be in. Its like a perfect checkmate between four parties where no one actually wins. And there seems to be no way out of it.

I would be more excited if the Conservatives were actually moving things to the libertarian right, all they have done is govern like Chretien and Martin.

The Conservatives may have to in order to distinguish themselves from the Liberals: http://www.metronews.ca/halifax/canada/article/671457--deficit-forces-ignatieff-to-pare-promises
