Multiple Elections, again?

In 2008 - 2009 we had a federal election in October, local elections in November and a provincial election in May.   All three major elections in seven months.

Now it looks like we will have a federal election in May, an HST referendum in June, a provincial election in September, and local elections in November.   Three major elections in six months and a referendum.

I do not want to see a federal election till the spring of 2012 at the earliest, ideally the fall of 2012.   The provincial election should not come early at all for any reason.   There is no good reason to hold an early election.

With this many times at the polling booth in such a short time means that there is going to voter fatigue.   People are going to be sick of politics by the time the local elections roll around and they will be significantly overshadowed by the other elections.

The premier should not try and call an election this year, at the earliest she should leave it for the early spring of 2012.  Ideally it would be in the fall of 2012 to reset the four year provincial cycle from the spring to the fall where it should have been in the first place.
