The Radical Left in Quebec

In the election last night Quebec Solidaire won two seats, Mercier (which it had won in 2008) and now Gouin as well.

It came second in Sainte Maire-Saint Jacques with 25.7% of the vote and in Hochelaga-Maisonneueve with 23.8% of the vote

Laurier-Dorion 24.3%, 3rd but very close to second place.
Outremont 18.1% - 3rd
Rosemont - 14.5% though 4th.

The five other ridings all touch either Mercier or Gouin.   These seven ridings represent almost a quarter of the QS vote.

In the coming spring 2013 election it is realistic for QS to win three more seats
