For the Record

During the NDP government of 1991 - 2001, the government issued 63 water licenses for private power production.

Not to mention a water license in perpetuity for big monopoly capital Alcan, issued by the NDP in 1997, to take its share of the Nechako - which is the largest private water diversion in the province.

The Kemano produces 3 times more power than all IPPs combined.

And there are only 40 private IPPs in BC (10 of that under construction).

Then there are 12,000 major streams and 280,000 minor streams.
